Where should we shoot our music video?

Alright, we got a lot to talk about this week, so let’s hit the pile!

Music video

We’re going to make a music video, and we want your ideas on where we should shoot it. One idea that’s been tossed around is outdoors, down near the Lachine Canal in St-Henri.

Think we can do better than that? Share your ideas with us with a comment on this post, on our Facebook page (click here) or email us at jimmyriggers@gmail.com.

Need incentive? A cameo appearance in the video to the person who comes up with the best idea!

Concerts new and old

You can now RSVP for our upcoming concerts by clicking on the images of the posters on the right hand side of this page. Don’t forget to tell your friends and family in Ottawa and Toronto that we’ll be there soon.

If you missed our concert last month at O Patro Vys you can watch the whole thing on YouTube (click here). Our thanks to Roy Keys for filming and editing the videos.

Cold North Killers

We’ll close this post by telling you about an event we’ll all be attending this weekend, though it isn’t musical in nature …

Our good friend Lee Mellor has written a book called “Cold North Killers” (Dundurn Publishing). If you’ve listened to any of Lee’s songs you know that he has a knack for storytelling. So the idea of Lee Mellor the novelist is anything but farfetched. In “Cold North Killers” Lee analyses 60 cases of serial murder in Canada, a country not considered to be particularly violent.

In Lee’s own words: The reason for Canada’s serial killer blackout is clear: until now such information has never been compiled and presented in a single concise work. “Cold North Killers” is a wake-up call. This detailed and haunting account of Canada’s worst monsters analyzes their crimes, childhoods, and inevitable downfalls. It is an indispensable compendium for any true crime lover, criminologist, or law-enforcement officer.

Lee will be launching his book in Montreal this Saturday March 10th at Chapters, 1171 Sainte-Catherine West at 2 pm. For more information, click here.

Have a great weekend everybody!

We Have a Website and We’re Giving Away Our Music

Well, we finally made the leap. A website; theJimmyriggers.com. We’re through with having to keep track of myspace’s, and reverbnation’s, and last.fm’s, and sonicbids’s’. We now have a permanent home on the web.

The facebook page and twitter feed still remain, but their content will now be fed mostly from here.

This is where you can go and where we’ll be sending you from now on for updates on upcoming shows, new videos, press quotes, and of course, music.

To celebrate, and to get things started on the right track, we’re giving away some of our music. We’re giving away 4 unreleased songs. All you have to do is join our mailing list.

Click on the “Join our mailing list” button on the right hand side of our home page, send us an email telling us where you live, and we’ll send you 2 tracks. If you refer a friend and get them to join our mailing list, we’ll send you 2 additional tracks of unheard songs.

That’s it folks. It doesn’t get any easier than that.

Our next show is Saturday February 18th at O Patro Vys in Montreal. Sarah Jane Scouten will be the opening act. More details will follow.

See you out there.
